Jaishree Misra has an MA in English Literature from Kerala University and two post-graduate diplomas from the University of London, one in Special Education and the other in Broadcast Journalism. She returned to India from the UK, where she worked at the BBC, in the Social Services department and as a film examiner at the British Board of Film Classification in London. Jaishree has written four novels published by Penguin, all which have been Indian best-sellers (‘Ancient Promises’, ‘Accidents Like Love & Marriage’ and ‘Rani’, a historical novel based on the life of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi). Her more recent book deal, with Harper Collins in the UK, was to write three commercial fiction novels (‘Secrets & Lies’, ‘Secrets & Sins’ and ‘A Scandalous Secret’). A new book of fiction will be released in 2014. She currently lives in Trivandrum with her family.
