The pen is mightier than the sword. Katyayini has brought this saying to life with her actions. A Hindi poet and a writer who has been working for women’s rights, democratic rights and labor rights since 1980 , Katyayiniis also well-known journalist and has worked as correspondent for newspapers and journals like Navbharat Times, Swatantra Bharat and Dinman Times. She is the co-editor of DishaSandhan (a theoretical journal), Naandipath (a journal focused on media studies), and the World Classics Series of books published by RajkamalPrakashan. She has published 7 collections of poetry and 3 collections of articles which includes volatile themes such as the ones is SaatBhaiyonke Beech Champa, Is PaurushpurnaSamay Meinand ShadyantraratMritatmaonke Beech (articles focused on communalism, intellectual question and social significance of literature).Some of her poems have been published in the Penguin Anthology of Indian women poets ‘In Their Own Voice’.
