Shalini Sinha works as an expert on gender and developmental issues and is based in New Delhi. She is currently affiliated with Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO), a global network that holds a secretariat at Harvard University and seeks to improve the status of the working poor, especially women, in the informal economy. Ms Sinha was introduced to the world of Disability by her son, and like Alice in Wonderland, she has found the journey both disturbing and charming; angst ridden and humour laced; challenging and inspiring. She has written extensively on gender and development issues but this is her first attempt to chronicle her life with her special needs son.
